Admissions Policy
- VES school embraces being inclusive and diverse. We cater to all nationalities and religions; this is reflected in the values and culture of the whole school community so that learners feel welcome, accepted, safe, and valued whatever their background.
- We take our responsibility for your child’s academic, social, and personal growth very seriously. In order to serve your child’s individual needs and to support his or her transition to our school, it is important that we have complete information regarding previous academic experience and pastoral welfare.
- For gifted children and those with special educational needs, it should be identified and recorded on the application form. We offer limited additional learning support where we can help the child to progress. Parents should inform the school at the application stage regarding any additional learning support requirements for their child. We may request copies of external documents such as professional assessments and individual learning plans or request that a professional assessment is carried out and the report shared with the school.
- VES provides a British national curriculum education.
- The school adheres to UAE law, Ministry of Education, and Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) guidelines.
Year group
Correct student placement is determined by Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) rules and in consultation with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Schools around the world use different numbering conventions and arrangements for their curriculum. The National Curriculum for England and Wales which is followed at Victoria English School utilises a 13-year format, as they do in England.
